At the end of this activity, students should be able to:
– recognise the different reproductive adaptations among classes of vertebrates
– recognise the differences in the structure and function of the egg among classes of vertebrates
– recognise the adaptations that enable the embryos of reptiles, birds and mammals to become independent from the aquatic environment
– recognise how parents participate in the postembryonic development of their offspring, especially in birds and mammals
– recognise the similarities between representatives of classes of vertebrates in regard to the development of the embryo inside the mother's body.
